Research interests: My main research interests are the comorbidities between substance use disorders and anxiety/depressive disorders. I am also interested in nosology, health disparities, and research perceptions.
Long-term career goals: I aspire to continue contributing to academia through researching and teaching at university and to increase quality of life of those with mental health disorders.
What philosophy guides your education? Malcolm Forbes once said, “The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one.”
What do you see as the most pressing public health problems facing the world today? Unequal and inadequate access to physical and mental health care. Adequate access to one is not enough. The mind and body are interconnected in such a way that if one is sick, so is the other.
