Research Interests: Neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioral profile of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), early intervention in ASD, co-morbid disorders in ASD especially epilepsy, neuroimaging in ASD, specific learning disorders, early-onset psychosis and mood disorders, juvenile-onset obsessive compulsive disorder, and pediatric psychopharmacology.
Long-term career goals: My goal is to make meaningful contributions to clinical, training, and research domains in the discipline of child and adolescent psychiatry in India.
What philosophy guides your education? I get inspired by the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Enthusiasm is the mother of effort, and without it nothing great was ever achieved.”
What do you see as the most pressing public health problems facing the world today? In my opinion, mental illness in children and adolescents especially in low and middle income countries is the most pressing public health problem as these illnesses are mostly undiagnosed and untreated.
