About Henry W Young, II
Dr. Young was born in the small town of Cordele, Ga. He became interested in a career in medicine after watching his father serve his community as a family physician for several years. He attended Georgia Southern University, where he majored in biology. Following college, he attended the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Florida, where he served as chief resident in his final year. After graduation, Dr. Young completed a NIDA T32 Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Florida Substance Abuse Training Center in Public Health. His interests include pain management, opioid misuse, and resident education. Dr. Young currently serves as Assistant Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency at UF Health.
When not at work, he enjoys cycling, music and traveling with his family.
