Housing & Transportation

Find the perfect place to live with the help of the Gainesville UF Off Campus Guide,

a free apartment resource that also includes helpful information on neighborhoods, finding a roommate, and much more.

The Continuum

The Continuum is an official graduate and professional housing partner of the University of Florida that offers pet-friendly apartments for graduate students that are conveniently located very close to both campus and downtown Gainesville.

Transportation

The Gainesville bus system, RTS, connects the UF campus with the rest of Gainesville.

Bus fare is free with your Gator 1 ID. You can download the TransLoc app on the App Store or Google Play, or find RTS maps, routes, and a bus tracker on the RTS website.

Students who choose to park on campus must have a decal from

7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.

To purchase a decal, visit Transportation and Parking Services.

Bicycle Safety and Registration

Bicycle registration is a popular program that is designed to deter bike thefts on campus. This service is available to University of Florida students, staff, faculty, and their family members. The bicycle registration process includes affixing a reflective, numbered decal to a bicycle and recording the information about the owner and the bicycle for retrieval in the event the bicycle is stolen.

Student bicycling through campus

Gainesville has been ranked the number one most bicycle-friendly city in the state of Florida! There are plenty of bike lanes and bike racks around campus and the surrounding areas. Bike theft can be an issue, so ensure that your bicycle is secured and register your bike with UFPD. UF also provides an affordable bicycle rental program for students, Gator Gears. Bicycles can be rented annually or by semester.
