NIDA T32 Postdoctoral Fellow Invited to Present Symposium at SBM:

Dr. Liva LaMontagne was selected to present a symposium entitled Pain and Substance Use in Complex Populations: Integrating Epidemiological and Clinical Perspectives with colleagues from Massachusetts General Hospital, Northwestern, and Rowan Universities during the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s 46th Annual Meeting and Scientific Sessions in San Francisco March 26-29, 2025.

This symposium at the world’s largest behavioral medicine conference, will showcase cutting-edge research on the relationships between pain and substance use in complex populations. Presenters will integrate perspectives from epidemiological, community, and hospital perspectives. Dr. LaMontagne will present findings from a study of community-dwelling middle-and-older adults with chronic pain in Florida that explores polypharmacy and general health among those who intend versus do not intend to initiate medical cannabis.
