What do you look forward to most as a future epidemiologist and your career in epidemiology?
As a future epidemiologist, I aim to integrate my algorithm engineering and data analysis skills to uncover genetic links to aging diseases like Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular conditions. By identifying early markers and risk factors, I hope to develop targeted interventions and preventive strategies, improving public health outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for aging populations.
What inspired you to study epidemiology?
My inspiration to study epidemiology stems from my passion for data analysis and its potential to positively impact public health. As an algorithm engineer, I witnessed the power of data in solving complex problems. This sparked my interest in applying these skills to uncover genetic links to diseases, particularly aging-related ones. I am motivated by the possibility of developing targeted interventions and preventive strategies that can improve the quality of life and reduce the burden of diseases on aging populations. Combining my technical expertise with epidemiology offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in global health.
