NIDA T32 Celebrates 3 Epidemiology PhD Graduates

The NIDA T32 wishes to congratulate three former predoctoral fellows on receiving their doctoral degrees in Epidemiology officially conferred on Thursday, May 2nd at the University of Florida Graduation Ceremony.

Carolin Hoeflich, PhD whose dissertation title is “Leveraging Electronic Health Records to Elucidate Changes in Prescribing Practices of Opioid Agonist Treatment among Pregnant Populations” and mentored by Catherine W. Striley, PhD, MSW, MPE. Dr. Hoeflich is joining industry post-graduation.

Nicole Fitzgerald, PhD whose dissertation title is “New Psychoactive Substance Use: Examining Prevalence and Correlates, Typologies of Use, and Risks for Adverse Effects” and mentored by Linda B. Cottler, PhD, MPH, FACE. Dr. Fitzgerald has accepted the only slot for a NIDA T32 postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University in New York City under the direction of Dr. Deborah Hasin.

Nae Won, PhD whose dissertation title is “Drug Use in Non-Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash Injuries and its Association with State Policies in the US from 2019 to 2023”, and mentored by Linda B. Cottler, PhD, MPH, FACE. Dr. Won has 3 job offers: 2 at CDC and one T32 postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins.
