Martin Wegman, an Epidemiology PhD/MD student, has been selected as an Outstanding Graduate Student by the Graduate Student Council at this year’s Graduate Student Council awards ceremony. Abenaa Acheampong Jones was asked to participate in the Graduate School’s first annual Graduate Student Appreciation Week Research Day to present her paper “Sex, drugs, and violence: A longitudinal analysis of the SAVA syndemic among female offenders.” She and her mentor, Dr. Linda Cottler also attended a dinner with President Fuchs and all nominated mentees and mentors. Hannah Crooke has recently been named Vice President of the PHHP Doctoral Student Council. She joins Abenaa who is already on the Council as Treasurer. We are very proud of our PhD students and the awards they have received.
