Denny Fe Garcia Agana

Bachelor of Science, Biology, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL
Master of Public Health, Epidemiology, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL

Hometown: Daytona Beach, FL
Research Interests: I am interested in Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases, specifically those that are treated in primary care setting. I am also interested in the social determinants of chronic diseases.
Long-term career goals: I hope to use the PhD as a vehicle to gain a wide-array of skills. I would like to get into Hospital Epidemiology as well as teach in an academic setting.
What philosophy guides your education: It is important to not only be a “Master” and be the “top” in your field, but even more so, to be invigorated to learn new findings and never be “stagnant” in your career. In order to continue to grow, it is imperative to be an ambassador – to truly serve others by sharing your skills and talent, and to live as an example in whatever you do.
