Shivani R. Khan

Bachelor in Biology, Salem College

Hometown: Lalitpur, Nepal
Research Interests: My research interest lies in substance abuse and HIV/AIDS. Substance abuse has played a crucial role in HIV transmission through needle sharing. Also, it affects judgment in individuals, which leads to risky sexual behavior increasing the possibility of getting STDs.
Long-term career goals: I would like to work to develop effective preventive measures and strategies for substance-abusing individuals and other highly susceptible groups of HIV. Also, I would like to evaluate the effectiveness of health services and screening programs that would enhance the efficiency of clinical care and public health interventions in developing countries.
What philosophy guides your education: β€œIt is not what you say out of your mouth that determines your life, it is what you whisper to yourself that has the most power.” – Robert T. Kiyosaki
