Master of Arts, Anthropology w/interdisciplinary concentration in Public Health, University of Florida

Hometown: Ossining, NY
Research Interests: Infectious disease transmission dynamics and control; mathematical modeling; applications of network analysis methods in infectious disease epidemiology; intervention efficacy in different social, political and economic contexts.
Long-term career goals: I see myself and my interdisciplinary work as a bridge that brings together researchers in public health, the social sciences, biology, ecology and more to address basic and applied questions related to the spread and control of infectious diseases. I hope to work for the US federal government or for an international NGO as an applied epidemiologist.
What philosophy guides your education: “We are not students of some subject matter, but students of problems. And problems may cut right across the borders of any subject matter or discipline.” – Karl Popper
