Xinguang “Jim” Chen, M.D, PhD, a professor in the department of epidemiology, has been named the executive editor-in-chief of BioMed Central’s new journal, Global Health Research and Policy. Global Health Research and Policy is an open access, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal designed to rapidly disseminate high quality research to improve regional and global health and promote health equity. Additionally, Dr. Chen recently served as guest editor for an issue of the journal Current HIV Research just published. The thematic issue focuses on advanced methodology for HIV research and includes an editorial by Dr. Chen, discussing the role of innovative methods in advancing HIV research. The issue also features papers co-authored by faculty and students from Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and the Emerging Pathogens Institute.
